Mississippi at (13) Auburn -21 / 56.5
Saturday Oct 7 Noon
The Gus Bus is finally rolling. This is the offense that was envisioned in the off season. Pound the ball up the middle then hit them over the top when they commit to stopping Johnson and Petway. Auburn has destroyed Miss State & Mizzou the past 2 weeks with the high octane offense and an equally suffocating defense. Ole Miss quit after halftime so their scoreline from last week is a bit inflated, as is this line. I don’t think it matters, the Tigers keep it moving and cover.
Pick: Auburn -21
Tulsa at Tulane -4.5 / 59
Saturday Oct 7 4pm
Again with these Tulsa picks? Stay with me here. The Golden Hurricane have been stifled the past couple weeks by above average defenses. This week they finally get one they can score against. Philip Montgomery’s side is due for a huge game and will get the scoring up and running again against Tulane. This will be a battle of two heavy rushing offenses and will be one to watch if you like smash mouth football.
Pick: Tulsa +4.5
(25) Central Florida at Cincinnati +17 / 55
Saturday Oct 7 8pm
Memphis came into last week as a dominant offensive team averaging over 40 a game. They barely scored 13 against the Golden Knights of Orlando. To say UCF has been impressive this year would be an understatement. They have put on it every team they have faced and I expect this week to be no different. The Knights haven’t given up more than 20 points in a game this year while the Bearcats have only gone over that total once so far. Cincy is allowing 29 points a game and will face the best offense they have seen this year. UCF continues this run and is one game closer to the War for I4.
Pick: UCF -17
Stanford at (18) Utah +5.5 / 50.5
Saturday Oct 7 10:15 pm
I look at this line and see a complete overreaction to last weeks game. Yes, Bryce Love had a Heisman worthy game but it was against Arizona State. AZ St has given up points to everyone so i’m not that impressed by the performance. Stanford is two different teams home and away, and will come back to earth after last week. Utah’s defense is only giving up 17 a game and will carry them regardless of who starts for the Utes. Rice Eccles doesn’t get enough credit for being a tough place to play in. At minimum take the points and if Huntley is a full go TAKE THEM OUTRIGHT !!
Pick: Utah +5.5
(11) Washington State at Oregon +2.5 / 61.5
Saturday Oct 7 8pm
The second of our PAC 12 lines that makes you question your beliefs. Washington State is coming off a huge win and now has to travel to a historically tough Autzen Stadium. Most are saying this is prime let down territory. I say otherwise, the Ducks lost their starting QB, the backup is probable (Alie didn’t look that good last week in mop up duty), and Royce Freeman is might not play either. A full Ducks squad might have me rethinking this but Mike Leach has Cougars focused and will follow up last week with another signature win.
Pick: Wazzu -2.5
